Educational Therapist

Qualification
MA Special and Inclusive Education
Bachelor (Hons) Social Sciences in Psychology

Tynn Yi has been an educational therapist since 2022, and obtained her Specialist Diploma in Educational Therapy from the Dyslexia Association of Singapore. Passionate about neurodivergence and wanting to learn more to help support her students, she pursued a Master’s in Special & Inclusive Education at UCL.

Tynn Yi has always been drawn to children — she tutored children from less privileged backgrounds in her schooling years before starting her career as an educational therapist at DAS. Her personal interest in other comorbidities like ADHD and Autism led her to pursue broader experiences as a SEN educator, having worked as a teaching assistant in public schools in London and as a SEN teacher and educational therapist in private centres.

She is always experimenting with alternative and non-traditional forms of learning to make classes as fun and engaging as possible. Especially for neurodivergent children, conventional learning structures often do not work for them. She enjoys using games, stories, and educational content to facilitate learning, which have proven that small changes to teaching approaches can have a huge impact on her students.

Outside of work, she is a firm advocate for social issues, and is often found at the climbing gym or traveling!
