Carlyn Lim

Carlyn graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication and Psychology from the University at Buffalo (SUNY), providing her with a strong foundation in child development, learning, cognition, and communication. As an Educational Therapist, she supports children and adolescents aged 4 to 18 years across both mainstream and Special Education (SPED) settings, working with learners with dyslexia, Specific Learning Difficulties (SpLD), autism, ADHD, executive functioning challenges, and other diverse learning needs. Carlyn has experience supporting learners across both Singapore’s MOE and international school curricula.

Carlyn adopts an individualised, strengths-based, and evidence-informed approach, recognising that every learner has unique strengths, challenges, and goals. Through structured intervention, she supports the development of literacy, numeracy, executive functioning, and learning strategies while fostering confidence, resilience, and independence.

Carlyn believes that meaningful progress is built upon strong partnerships. She works collaboratively with families, school teachers, psychologists, occupational therapists, speech and language therapists, and behavioural therapists to develop practical, consistent strategies that support each learner across home, school, and therapy settings. Committed to lifelong professional development, she continually deepens her expertise in evidence-based educational therapy practices to empower every learner to achieve meaningful and lasting progress.

• Certified in Multisensory Structured Literacy Instruction Using the Orton-Gillingham Approach – Completed the Foundational Multisensory Approach to Literacy Workshop and the Advanced Orton-Gillingham (OG) Multisensory Systematic Literacy (MSL Advance) Professional Development Series. Trained in delivering structured, systematic, explicit, cumulative, diagnostic, prescriptive, and multisensory literacy instruction to support learners with dyslexia and other language-based learning difficulties.
• Certificate in Supporting Specific Learning Difficulties (SpLD) Learners in Mathematics – DAS Academy, Singapore. Trained in evidence-based approaches to support learners with Specific Learning Difficulties in mathematics through structured, scaffolded, and multisensory instructional strategies that strengthen number sense, mathematical reasoning, problem-solving, and mathematical confidence.
